i need to vent about this for a minute. when we had our little getaway i treated myself to a cute little green scarf from the Gap. i wasn't going to buy it, but then i decided that i just loved it and went back and bought it. it was $12.99, so not the end of the world...but still it was something a little frivolous that i treated myself too.
so a couple of nights ago i went out for dinner with a friend after a meeting. i took the scarf off so i wouldn't get it dirty. it slid off the booth and i forgot it there. this restaurant is in another town, so i called over there to tell her that i forgot my scarf and i would come to get it. the lady tells me, "they had like four scarfs there and she threw them away". i told her i was having a hard time believing her...but she insisted that she threw it in the garbage. i told her i only left it there a couple of nights ago...why would she throw it away right away? she kept changing her story. when you know you are being lied to, it is really maddening. not only was i being lied to but i knew she knew which scarf i was talking. i am assuming someone there took it home.
it is still the middle of winter here. places don't throw winter stuff away in the middle of winter! now if i had left it there for a few months...yes, i could understand it.
i will now end my vent session with this---there is a little Mexican restaurant in the town over from us that stole my scarf and lied to me about it...i won't be eating there again!
(i realize this is completely ridiculous, but thanks for letting me vent about it anyway.) :)

The only words I can think of are "I'm sorry for your loss". I DO NOT mean that in a mean way! I absolutely HATE to lose things and then to be lied to about it...THAT would make me a bit upset. So...I'm sorry for your loss.
Well, I hope whoever it was can sleep at night!! I have left gameboys & purses in places & had them returned with nothing missing. I am really sorry. THIS is who WE are apart from Christ.
I think we should TP them
ok stef...come up here and let's do it!
umm...could you bring me a new scarf to wear too?
I would be so fired up too! I hate that kind of thing...but luckily God is just if noone else is.
Clearly the only solution is to pack up your family, move about 432 miles south, and live closer to me... nobody here EVER steals anything (besides- today I didn't even need a coat- so you'll be fine without a scarf)....
Any other problems you need me to solve? I'm kind of like Ann Landers- FULL of solutions :)
but bets, the scarf made me feel sassy...so i would have worn it even if it was hot out. maybe you should move back up here and i'll buy you a cute, sassy scarf. oh that's right...you wouldn't be where God wants you. nevermind.
I LOVE Steffany's idea. That made me laugh out loud! I am still giggling!
Seriously, I am so sorry about your scarf. I think she probably had it hangin'on the door knob in her bedroom to be quite honest! : )
Think of it this way: maybe the person with the scarf now really NEEDS it more for warmth and comfort and you have been able to provide that for them. God does indeed work in mysterious ways...
Dang scarf stealers.
Stupid restaurant.
I would be SO mad!!!
Isn't that frustrating...especially when it's something that you bought just for YOU....which is something you NEVER do, anyway??
Do you want me to go bust a cap on them for you??? ;-)
I would feel the same way. My husband works at a theater and they keep stuff for a minimum of a month before getting rid off it.
(I've acquired a nice leather jacket from this lost and found, that was left months before)
They even mail wallets if they can't get a hold of someone and they don't return for it.
someone over at that restaurant needs a beat-down!
