Sleeping Baby

Left Overs!

OH yea...guess who woke up with leftovers in her mini bedside cooler!?!?! That's right...Mr. ADORABLE went for a SIX...you heard me right...SIX hour stretch last night! Yee-Haw! My body thought at 4:17am it was time to be bright-eyed and bushy tailed...it hasn't seen that kind of sleep in a l-o-n-g time. I was able to covince the ol' bod' to fall back to sleep...Whew! (due to the lack of camera, please imagine the cutest baby boy ever preciously asleep...that's the photo I would have posted with this...or wait, better idea--head over to Diary of a Blessed Life to see a sneak peek at the amazing photos she took of our baby boy)

I have been pondering some things from my last posts and will post my thoughts about them when they all come together. Just wanted you all to celebrate SLEEP with me!

Listen

"When man listens, God speaks.
When man obeys, God acts.
When God acts, men change.
When men change, nations change."

"Change is God's miracle to man. New Men, New Women, New Nations."
"If anyone comes to be in Christ, he is a new creation." 2 Corinthians 5:17
"Behold, I make all things NEW."
taken from GOD GUIDES by Mary Geegh

I don't know about nations changing, but what I do know is we listened to God to step out in faith and adopt...He CHANGED US! He acted on our behalf, and we are forever changed! Sometimes change is hard, it is scary, it is intimidating...but when we switch our thinking to think of change as God's miracle to man...WOW!

Busy, busy, busy--

Sorry can't post anything new...I'm too busy sketching my kids. Plus now I gotta run to the store to pick up some oil pastels.

Major Problem

I have been without a camera for over a week now. The eye piece on mine broke. I had 6 days left on its 1 year warranty, so they are covering it. Can you believe I was able to find my original receipt and box? Praise God that I still had it.

I have no clue how long this is going to take...but I am going through withdrawal! HELP!

I wanna know...

What are your favorite hobbies? I am trying to define what my favorite hobbies are. I like to try pretty much everything, so I am now narrowing down what things I would really like to devote my interests towards. I was talking with my friend Steffany and she is going to run a half marathon...just because she wants to know that she did it. There are so many things that I would love to do, but I get so distracted with life that I never get a chance to really focus on any particular interest. I would love to hear about you...what are your interests, hobbies, things you dream of accomplishing.

Here are some of the thoughts and dreams floating around in my head today--I would love to learn more about photography and become more experienced in the whole area of light with photos. I would love to make and finish a quilt someday...notice I said *finish*, I don't want to start this project and not finish it. I love to bake, but I don't make enough time for it. These are all hobbies that I dream of becoming more accomplished in. These are all things that I am interested in, but don't know much about. If you have any great books or websites that you have found that cover these topics please post in the comments. I need to start somewhere...I think that is part of not going for it. Where do I start?

This time of year is always a time when I get really squirrely...so maybe if I define a certain hobby that I would like to focus on it will help keep me distracted from the long winter!

Now it's your turn to tell me what your thoughts and dreams are! :)

Go BEARS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Matt has been a hard core BEARS fan since he was a little boy! This right here was a dream come true for him. He so badly wanted to get Hudson all decked out in some BEARS "stuff". When we were in Florida Matt was online shopping for a Bears outfit for Hudson. We didn't end up ordering it...so when we opened our gifts and saw all of the Bears gifts...Matt was so excited! Matt's mom made him a tie-fleece blanket. A friend from church made him a Bears quilt. And another friend gave him the little Bears cap and football. Oh and he got two Bears pacifiers...which his 4 yo sister always calls "Go Bears paci". (She doesn't know that you can just call them the Bears, because around here it is always "Go Bears!") All of these items are proudly displayed in Hudson's room! Sara over at Football and Fried Rice , I think you'll appreciate us bringing up another little Bear's Fan!!!!!

Baby Evidence

This is an email that I got from a friend recently. It touched my heart, because I had no idea how often she was praying for us. I am such a firm believer in the power of prayer...and this encouraged my heart. When you are prompted by the Holy Spirit to pray no matter where you are, do it! It was the power of prayer that sustained us during our journey. It was the power of prayer that kept us going when we didn't think we could. It was the power of many prayers that stormed the gates of heaven to bring our precious son into our arms forever!

The reason for this e-mail is just to share something with you. I drive past your house almost everyday whether it is to pick up my daughter from school or just whatever the reason. Since I found out about you adopting this has been my little reminder (well this and coffee) to pray for you and your family, all of your family wherever they were and that you would be united. Today I drove right in front of your house and I saw the baby evidence....a baby swing in the window. I know I have seen you at church holding Mr. Hudson but the swing in the house made it real to me he's home!!! I began crying (yes you know I am a cry baby) it brought such joy to my heart to see this in your window. I began to praise God for so many things, his faithfulness, his comfort, his sovereignty!!! Your adoption journey has touched so many lives and has forever changed mine. Thank you, thank you for your step of obedience when God said do you trust me. Enjoy these precious days! Love you!

The reality of Hudson being our son is kind of starting to sink in, but I still hold him and truly am overwhelmed with everything he means to us. Still even now, two months later I still really can't wrap my mind around how amazing all of this is. God is Awesome!

Can I challenge you with this...Whenever you start thinking about someone, their situation (whatever it may be), their family, their adoption, their jobs, their marriage, etc. take that moment to turn it into praying for them. The Lord delights in hearing us, He delights in the impossible, and He is always working. This quote from Fern Nichols, founder of Moms In Touch has always stuck with me...."Prayer isn't the prelude to doing, prayer is the doing." Let your voice be the voice that reaches the Lord's heart for that person. Having been the recepient of the power of prayer...I challenge you!

Sleep?!?!?!

Ok...so many of you have been asking if I have been getting more sleep, and the answer to that is "Um...not so much!" :) He is still up pretty much every 2 hours. I think a couple of nights ago he may have slept for four hours, but then when I started thinking about it some more...he actually might have been up at his two hour mark and I was just too out-of-it to even remember! Once in awhile he will go to about 3 hours...but he is pretty routine with the two hour need a little somein, somein' routine. I have figured out a better routine with the bottles in the middle of the night. I mix them all up before bed and put them in a cooler. Since my little man isn't picky he will drink them straight from the cooler that sits next to our bed.

At least for now I have a really good excuse for being out-of-it! :)
