It's beginning to look alot like Christmas!

The other day the girls tried on Christmas dresses and began begging for me to take some pics. We quick set up a backdrop and started shooting away. I am a contributor to We Picture This our assignment was "Eyes" this month. It was great challenge for me to focus in on capturing some specific shots with the eyes. The one with my girl and her lollypop cracks me up, because her eyes are talking to me. They are begging for a lick of that sweetness. (so even though it has pinlights rather than catchlights...i still loved it!) I love that I have practice "models" ready for me at any moment. They make my job easier!

My baby girl!

My baby girl turned 5 yesterday!! She is such a precious gem! We started celebrating her birthday last week and it just keeps on going.

Yesterday I took her shopping with me and we walked out of the store with so many snacks that I couldn't believe it! She picked out a box of Barbie cereal, some Barbie snacks, goldfish, the list goes on and on. It was so much fun to be out shopping together! Her older sister baked cupcakes for her and we all sang to her. The night ended with our traditional "spanking machine", lots of screams and giggling!!!

I am so grateful the Lord blessed us with her little life!

Custom Christmas Cards--Adoption Fundraiser!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok so I'm sooooo excited about this!!!!! My sister and her husband are in the process of adoption. We are beyond happy for them, and can't wait to meet our new little niece or nephew that the Lord has chosen to join our family. (personally I think it would be really fun for Hudson to have a little boy cousin his age...but that's just me!)

My other sister and I have been brainstorming different fundraising ideas...none of them were seeming to be come together. This morning during my quiet time the Lord gave me this idea...and I knew I had to run with it! :) So here is my idea...aka God's idea! I will be selling custom Christmas card templates for them. On my Laura Lu Photography site I have a variety of templates you can choose from for $25 each. You will send me the picture/pictures you would like to use along with the name of the template you have chosen. I will create the card using your pictures and names. I will email the file to you and you can have them printed at your choice of printers. 100% of the proceeds will go to bring home their baby, so if you would like to donate more than $25 it will go directly to them! I am just so excited to see how the Lord uses this to bless them.

Please pray for Greg and Mari Lynn as they wait in anticipation for the Lord to reveal their child to them!

Ooooo---I'm so EXCITED!

Oooo...I'm so excited! I'm working on a very, very special project! If I can get the kiddos to cooperate with me today, I hope to unveil it later today. :) This project is one that I am passionate about and hold dear to my heart.

For those of you who are like me and can't wait to find out surprises...I'll give you a hint. This will be a collaboration of both of my blogs! ;)

Without Further Ado!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

With a stomach full of butterflies, my heart pounding out of my chest, and lots of prayer...I'd like to introduce to you Laura Lu Photography! Through lots of prayer and lots of nudging from my friends...I'm starting a little business. Over the past few weeks/months I have been building a photography website. I've been so scared to "launch" this baby that I can't even tell you.

Please pray for me as I start this new venture in life. I'm so incredibly grateful for the ways the Lord has allowed me to grow in my love of photography. Every day that passes, I continue to learn new things. My heart's desire is for this "little business" by this "little mom" to be something that the Lord uses to bless others. It is straight from Him and I desire for Him to be glorified through it all.

Sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo without further ado...I humbly introduce to you---

Little bit of Joy! ~ for your viewing pleasure

I had the privilege of taking our dear friend's pictures last weekend. This is their first family portraits since they brought home their new daughters from Ukraine. It was so much fun! The little girls were just eating up the camera time...well all except one, she kept running away from me and laughing...which made me keep on giggling. :) When the little one with blonde hair looked at herself in the mirror she said "soooo bew-ta-ful!" It melted my heart! The two little girls with brown hair have been home with their forever family for about 8 weeks. They are pure joy!

Undecided Voters

I took this all from One Baby One Vote.

QUESTIONS FOR PRO-LIFE, UNDECIDED VOTERS

QUESTION ONE: Isn’t Obama’s position on abortion reasonable and balanced? ANSWER ONE: Obama ALWAYS votes against ALL measures restricting abortion — in ALL 9 months, including support of partial birth abortion. He voted four times to allow babies born alive in botched abortions to die.

QUESTION TWO: How much difference would McCain really make on abortion?
ANSWER TWO: Dramatic difference. He has promised to appoint Supreme Court justices like John Roberts and Samuel Alito, who have already issued strong rulings restricting abortion.

QUESTION THREE: How much difference would Obama really make on abortion?
ANSWER THREE: Dramatic effect. Obama promised that, "The first thing I'd do as president is sign the Freedom of Choice Act," immediately eliminating over 500 abortion restrictions passed by the 50 states

QUESTION FOUR: Where do they both stand on abortion and when a baby is entitled to human rights? ANSWER FOUR: McCain — "at conception." Obama — "That’s above my pay grade."

QUESTION FIVE: Is there anything about our economy, healthcare, education, or national security that is more important than deciding who gets to live?

ANSWER FIVE: No. There are many important issues to weigh but there are some that are simply more important and have more dire consequences to society and our nation.

QUESTION SIX: Isn’t it pro-life to support a candidate who takes a stance against war? ANSWER SIX: Pope John Paul II was against war, and against the war in Iraq, but he insisted that we must all be unconditionally pro-life, and would never have encouraged voting for a pro-abortion candidate under any circumstances. No war has equaled the number of lives sacrificed to the abortion holocaust (almost one billion worldwide).

QUESTION SEVEN: What about poor mothers and their babies? Who will do more for them?
ANSWER SEVEN: Pro-life organizations serve these moms and babies tirelessly. The second victim in any abortion is the mother, and a disproportionately high amount of abortions are performed on poor women. These issues are not separate and BOTH must addressed simultaneously. We can’t help these children if they die first. We must provide poor women with better choices.

QUESTION EIGHT: With no good choice in this election, why not just sit this one out?
ANSWER EIGHT: In the last presidential election, only 3 million votes made the difference. If you are pro life, and don’t vote, you will be complicit when/if Obama gets to inflict his pro abortion plans on the babies whose lives hang in the balance.

QUESTION NINE: Does voting really matter? Did abortions go down under President Bush? ANSWER NINE: YES. President Bush has been a staunch, unwavering advocate for life — on the state & national level

QUESTION TEN: How can I find out where other state candidates stand on the unborn so I can vote for life?
ANSWER TEN: http://www.lifenews.com/2008prolifevotersguide.html

"Barack Obama is THE MOST EXTREME PRO-ABORTION CANDIDATE EVER to seek the office of President of the United States. Indeed, he is the most extreme pro-abortion legislator ever to serve in either house of the United States Congress."
(Dr. Robert P. George, Princeton University) http://www.winst.org/publicdiscourse/index.php

"Above all, the common outcry, which is justly made on behalf of human rights - the right to health, to home, to work, to family, to culture—is false and illusory if the right to life, the most basic and fundamental right, is not defended with maximum determination." Pope John Paul II

FACTS
1/6 of the current US population has been killed by abortion.
1/6 of the population of the world population has been killed by abortion.
43% of all US women will have an abortion by the age of 45!
Every 25 seconds a baby is murdered in this country!
Daily: 3,500 Americans are killed by abortion, about the same number killed on 9/11 and in the Iraq war.

If you've had an abortion God loves you very much and we love you very much and we in the pro-life movement want to help you.
