In the pathway of faith we come to learn that the Lord's thoughts are not our thoughts, nor His ways our ways. Both in the physical and spiritual realm, great pressure means great power! Although circumstances may bring us into the place of death, that need not spell disaster--for if we trust in the Lord and wait patiently, that simply provides the occasion for the display of His almighty power. "Remember his marvelous works that he hath done; his wonder, and the judgments of his mouth" (Psalms 105:5 KJV) --A personal word from L. B. Cowman taken from Streams in the Desert

Amen! It's the waiting patiently that is so hard for me. What wonderful words! I am going to need to buy this book!
Words of encouragement are always appreciated. Thanks.
Amen! Thanks for sharing. I needed that reminder today!
I needed that...thank you! We are at a crossraods with out baby boy. He is 11 weeks old and may be leaving us to live with his relatives. I know that God is in control. That knowledge has to get from my head to my heart!
I just posted those very verses (Isaiah 55:8-9). How I am reminded DAILY that my faulty, fleshy, human line of thinking is so "out of line" with God's.
Yet, I am encouraged in the same passage [of Isaiah 55] to "Give ear and come to me; hear me, that your soul may live" (verse 3) and to "Seek the LORD while he may be found; call on him while he is near" (verse 6). "You will go out in joy and be led forth in peace; the mountains and hills will burst into song before you,and all the trees of the field will clap their hands." (verse 12)
God is good! :-)
Thanks for sharing...great truth there!!
I'm trying to check out FHG, and I'd like to learn more about your experience with FHG, good or bad. Not sure how to email you directly...
Sojourner--you can leave me your email address here in the comments and I will contact you.
You know - I love that God's thoughts aren't OURS and that His ways are so much more righteous and higher than our ways could ever be....to know that he is in control brings me such peace!!
Stepping out, my email is sojo AT bluepolka DOT net. Thanks.
Might be faster just to talk briefly over the phone on my dime...
