Tutu...

This little girlie used some of her own Christmas money to buy herself a tutu last Sunday. It's adorable, but we've encountered one problem. She WON'T TAKE IT OFF! She LOVES it! She has worn it everyday this week. She has slept in it. She has twirled and twirled and twirled in it. She has worn it to the library. She has alternated tights and shirts with it, but the tutu remains a constant. I'm not sure how long this is going to last. I believe there might be some ketchup spilled on it. (I promise some happy pics are coming...we've taken lots)

But guess what...this is one battle that's just not worth fighting for me! Every little girl deserves to dance in a tutu for as long as she wants! :)

That pictures makes me sad with her! I agree...who needs to take off a tutu if you're not ready to!!

I love that you're not going to battle her over taking it off. What a nice Mommy...

cassie used to have a little red gingham checked skirt that she wore everywhere. to school, church, shopping. It had a rip in the front but she didn't care. she would wear it with pink shirts, leggings or tights, nothing matched. initially i would argue with her about it but i let it go. bigger mountains to die on. now it's a funny, special memory. (of course, she was 16. JK!! ha ha)

Bella did the same thing last Christmas with a wedding dress/tutu thing that she got from Grandma. It was all white, and trashed within the first week. She still does this same thing though...this week she found a purple velvet super long dress at the thrift store and she wears it everywhere...including to bed. I finally got it away from her long enough to wash it. She said that if she wears a coat over it...no one will be able to "see her shine". :) So...I can relate. And yes, I agree. Not a battle to fight.

Love Love Love that photo!

Oh do I know that face around here. I think our girls would be in constant princess dresses if we let them. Some days I feel bad for saying no :( I guess I might have to rethink that a bit - because truly they are God's princesses every day!

Thanks for opening my eyes to seeing something new in their desire to dress up!

Blessings,
Jill

i asked your youngest dd where her tutu was yesterday (because i was SO looking forward to seeing it!!!) and she looked at me with those big eyes and said..."it's pink!" hahaha, love that girl:)!

and, for the record, that red gingham skirt was slammin - and it looked AWESOME with my hot pink spandex shirt and a sweet ponytail on top of my head. i loved being 6:).
