Here are my parents...they just celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary!!!! I took them out a couple weeks ago to do a shoot with them. My dad wasn't too keen on the idea at first...but he likes pictures, so we got him to work the lens. (Half of my pics have him making faces at me in them...he's a bit of a goofball--wonder where i get it?!?)
Thank you, Mom and Dad, for all your love and support. Thanks for modeling Christ's love to me as I grew up. A memory of my parents that I will forever have engraved in my mind is every morning when I woke up, my mom would be sitting in the living room in her recliner. She would still be in her jammies, holding a cup of coffee. Her Bible was opened on her lap and her head would be bowed in prayer. My dad was always sitting at the kitchen table with his Bible open and a cup of coffee nearly empty. He would have a yellow legal pad in front of him where he was taking notes from his studying of God's Word. He always used a red pen. I love these memories of my parents and never knew how much it meant until I became an adult.
Thank you for modeling a strong commitment to our Lord for me. And thank you, Mom and Dad, for all of the hours you spent and still spend praying for me.

What a great looking couple. May the Lord love them and protect them and give them many more years together and with their family. I recently lost my dad after having lost my mom almost 11 years ago...I know that they are now finally reunited and enjoying Heaven with Our Lord, oh how happy they must be...but it is such a great loss for me. So enjoy every minute that you have them with you.
Thanks Essy--I've been wondering how you were doing. I am so sorry that you lost your dad. I prayed for you and will continue.
Hugs!
Oh my gosh they are cute. I am so excited when I think about growing old with my man ... I love that there are good examples around for those of us still new to this stuff ... thanks for sharing - you are a talented photographer Laura!
beautiful pic and post..I love it. My parents also celebrated their 40th this year! This is a great photo!
What a wonderful pic of your folks .... and what a rich legacy they are leaving behind. Will be in touch soon .... we have something in the works for November for Adoption Awareness month and hope you can be involved. :) Take Care, ~Shelly
BEAUTIFUL picture!!! What wonderful memories of your parents!
I would never believe that your dad would goof off so much-NO WAY, JOSE!
Great picture of them! I love the memories that you shared of them.
thanks for sharing Laura. I hope and pray that my girls have memories like that - of a mommy and a daddy who loved the Lord. What a legacy.
What a great picture of that cute couple! Nice work, Laura! :-)
Isn't it such a blessing to have wonderful, godly parents who PRAY for you? What a legacy they are leaving...look at their three great daughters! :-)
So very wonderful! And what sweet memories for you. It was encouraging for me to read!! Congratulations on 40 years!
Wow! 40 years. Glory to God! I remember when your Dad was my AWANA leader. Although I didn't know it then, He was a great example for me, too.
Happy Anniversary, Mike and Karen. My memory of your mom was when I would drop Betsy and Jane off and she would be able to tell me things that God had shown her that morning. She was a godly model for many people, I praise God for her. She said to me one time that the greatest compliment one could give a mom was one that involved her children, because her children were a reflection of the training that they received.
Mike and Karen, looking at your girls and the lights that they are in this dark world, Christ has blessed you. May He continue to bless you for years to come.
Laura, this is really for your parents...but...oh, go ahead and cry like a baby...because...I CAN"T HEAR YOU. :-) Love you too.
Laura, Thanks for writing this tribute and posting the picture. I'm in full agreement with everything and also thank our Lord for the gift of our parents.
Sis ML
P.S. It was sooooo neat and encouraging seeing the post from Linda (Lois) Although I, being the serious first born, will always call her Mrs. A and the rest of the letters that spell her last name but that I shouldn't type because I'm learning myself how to be a good blogger.
I really hope you printed that pic out and framed it for them - that is just too cool.
What a lovely tribute! And awesome memories.
They are gems.
