i learned a valuable lesson. i need to increase my shutter speed when capturing a group of kiddos. we celebrated my father in law's birthday on saturday. we wanted to get a pic of grandma and grandpa with all of their grandkids. umm yeah, i didn't do such a hot job of capturing my nephew in action. ugh...what a bummer! not how i had hoped they would turn out...but i sure learned a lesson. :)

If you up the shutter speed, then you have to adjust the ISO? I've made the same mistake. I think I'm too dumb for this manual stuff. LOL

I've noticed my photos aren't as 'sharp' as they should be. What's up with that?

Are you using Picasa? Oh it's great! I just can't figure out how to do it, either. LOL :)

OH I think that is just priceless. If I didn't know better, I 'd think that was my own 4 yo in action!!

Wow...you did great for having that many kiddos to have sit still :) When I get over 2 kids in a 45 minute shoot, it turns chaotic. Blah! :) But yes, I would up your shutter and then tie him to the ground.

I am trying to learn how to change my shutter speed & f-stop. Not having much success. I can't find my camera book!!!!

we did get a few shots with him sitting and smiling. i just wanted to show how badly i messed up with my shutter speed. ;)

1st sara, i know your work! you are stellar! i can't imagine you having a blah session. :)

last weekend i did a shoot with my parents and their 10 grandchildren (12 and under). in the rain. major Blah! they were cooperative because they know me and i was promising treats...even though my sisters didn't want me to. aunties can do that. :)

2nd sara--email me...i want to chat with ya.

f-stop is my last to learn & I'm not having much luck either. :)

melissa--how about we trade what i know about f/stop for your ss speed knowledge. i got f/stop down. sheesh...wouldn't that be so nice and easy if that actually worked. :) isn't it crazy how we can each figure out one but not as great with the other?!?!

you went private again...will you let me join your blog!?!?

Are there books that you read to get you started on your learning process that you would recommend? I love photography and have always wanted to learn. You have inspired me to learn. However I am not sure where to begin.

Laura - sure! I have a big shopping day at Wal-Mart - I'll email you later. That would be great. :)

Yes my blog went private because my son had an accident @ school & suffered for 4 hours & we weren't contacted....some guy dug until he found my blog & it spread thru our town. Everyone is upset with us because we posted our story in the newspaper (& we were contacted by local news stations but we declined) & we received major backlash. :( For taking a stand for our son. :(

Had no choice but to go private. :(

I'll get back with you later. Thanks! :)

Christina--I will do a post sometime soon that will have the books that I used to get my feet under me. I know what you mean about not knowing where to start. There is a lot to learn, but just take one step at a time.
