"Begin to realize more and more that prayer is the most important thing you do. You can use your time to no better advantage than to pray whenever you have opportunity to do so, either alone and with others, while at work, while at rest or while walking down the street. Anywhere!" ~O. Hallesby (taken from When Families Pray-Cheri Fuller)
We are using this book in our devotional time. It is full of wonderful ideas on how to incorporate prayer into our family life. Today we made decisions to pray for our community as we go about our activities here. We will pray for the jail as we pass it, the courthouse and government leaders as we pass it. The schools, the college, our neighbors... As the kids go to soccer or to church, we will pray for the kids they will be with as we drive up to our destinations. We are praying for our presidential election each day. It is neat to see the kids get into the idea of praying for all things as we go about our day. Join us in praying ANYWHERE and EVERYWHERE!

Laura,
You are such a great mom!! What a wonderful example you are to me and to your children!
I too am praying for our upcoming elections! There will be many close races within our state. I am praying that christians would have their eyes open to the spiritual impact that these elections will have upon our great nation and our state!
I second Heather about you are a great mom and example!!
I love this way of praying. When I pass someone's house our our church and things like that I always lift them up. It has become so natural to me. The ideas are endless, passing hospitals, banks. There are so many places decisions are made every day, major and minor. Thank you for sharing this book title with us!
What a great idea! Wow - you are a great leaders...what a great way for your kids to see you leading by example!
I'm a silent prayer...but perhaps I need to be more vocal about it - and what better time than in the car with the kidlets?!
guys...i mess up a lot! i wasn't sharing this to get accolades. i just wanted to share ideas on how to incorporate prayer into our kids lives.
linds--when my kids were little like your's we started praying when we would hear sirens. we'd pray for the firefighters that were on their way to help people. we'd pray for the people that were in need of help. we'd pray for them all to have peace and be drawn to the heart of God through whatever what was happening in that moment of need. when we were outside...we'd thanks Jesus for the sun, the flowers, etc. I remember starring at ants and saying "thank you, Jesus, for making those ants" with my 3 year old. the point is..it doesn't have to be long-winded prayers.
Great quote Laura. Thanks for sharing and for the reminder. I love to pray, that may sound cheezy, but I really do. Hey your sister and her family brought supper out the other night. IT was so great and thoughtful! I'm ready to get Hudson and T together whenever you want, just say the word!
This book is at the top of my list to order. Can't wait! :) What an awesome privilege we have to raise our children up to be prayer warriors! ~Shelly
Wow~What a fab idea...
How's about when you drive by a "stoplight" you pray for the "S" family way out here in the boonies...cause otherwise, you'll never drive by us and we need LOTS Of prayers! :)
LOVE THIS.
One thing the kids and I do is every time we're out driving and we hear a siren/see an ambulance, we pray for whoever might be in it.
won't it be GREAT to be in Heaven, finding out how so many lives were changed through the prayers of your family!?!
Great idea!!
