Process Update...

Ooooo, we are getting so close! But man, am I nervous about these last steps! Yesterday I sent the package to our our Secretary of States office. The post officer that was helping me kept telling me "not to worry, it was going to be just fine"! I explained that our "life" is on these documents and that behind them we have two little boys waiting for us in an orphanage. He was so nice and took great care of me! So we are waiting for our documents to be authenticated by our state. I just sent copies of all of our documents off to the translator as well. He will begin to translate them and then complete everything once the authentications come back. He said he can have it done in a couple of days! Whew! After we get everything back from the translatorand the authentications, then we compile it all and send it to the Haitian consulate to be authenticated by them. After that...it's off to Haiti! Then we will just pray our hearts out for the Lord to part the waters for our paperwork to pass through Haiti as quickly as possible!

Wow! We're at nearly the same stage (re: dossier stuff) as you. We got our FedEx envelope with our authentications a few hours ago and our translations were just completed. We'll be praying for you & your paperwork!! :o)

Yeah!!!

Our homestudy left our social workers office yesterday, heading to All God's Children International to be proofed-then Ray (our s.w.) with sign it and we will take it to be notorized by the state. (sigh)
This time around Bruce and I have had a hard time with paperwork stage...after all as of last March we were on the waiting list...paperwork behind us-then God moved "suddenly" and a sibling group of three came into our lives through respite care (foster care babysitting)...we left the "waiting list" at #1....now we are repaying for everything to be done again-the good news is when we go back on the list we will be put in the middle (we were hoping to have "NO" waiting list, but I guess this is there policy. It has felt like an eternal wait for this adoption. I know God has wonderful plans though ;-)

Be blessed in your process

I hope it all goes quickly and no papers need to be renotarized. I always like to know what is going on and push things through until I have the answer so the paperwork thing is hard for me. We are out of first legalization and they are getting everything ready for IBESR. It's hard for me not knowing exactly what they are doing and what needs done!

I have enjoyed reading your blog! Your kids are so cute!
I know what you mean about the paper work. When we had to send our paper work off I was so worried. I didn't want to let it go. You put so much into those papers and they represent so much. But everything was fine! looking forward to reading more.
