Rookie Mom Report!

Technically, I am not a rookie-rookie mom....but I am a rookie mom to a son! So yes...let's just say that I wasn't quite prepared, and Hudson pottied all over the bed in the middle of the night! ;) I will be working on perfecting my technique!

What have we been up to you might wonder...well, me and Mr. Handsome have been up since a little after 3am. Wait...I have been up since 3 am...Mr. Handsome elected to fall asleep about 6:30 when I finally got sick of sitting in the room and headed for the lobby. I had some great breakfast with the little guy...he had his bottle, I had some biscuits and gravy, scrambled eggs, juice, coffee...it was great.

Can I just say that CNN in the morning is really boring! Checking email...not quite as boring! Having people stop me to see *MY NEW BABY BOY* not boring! Sitting here with Hudson in my arms...NOT BORING IN THE LEAST! Yes...I have had him right in front of me in the sling since 6:30am. He absolutely loves it! Matt is absolutely exhausted...so I have been in the hotel lobby for pretty much the last 5 hours! I hope they don't get sick of me. :) I wander around once in awhile then meander back to the comfy couches and fire place. I really want Matt to get caught up on his sleep.

Hudson and I spent the night starring goo-goo eyed at each other. He literally just wanted to spend the night starring at my face. At times my eyes were only about half open goo-goo eyes...but open they remained. If he was starring at me...I wanted to stare right back into his big brown eyes! Besides...who needs sleep when you have adrenaline? :)

We got to be on the phone with the girls while they saw his photos for the first time. They were so cute! They can't wait to kiss his cheeks! In the meantime I am giving him a gazillion kisses for them. It will be so wonderful to see them all together...I can't wait! Little guy doesn't know what he has waiting for him! :)

Well...I better go wander some more! Toodles from cloud 9!!!!!

What great bonding time! I was so excited about finally seeing his picture last night I had to wake up my poor hubby and tell him how beautiful Hudson is...of course he was groggy and had NO IDEA who I was talking about! :0) Can't wait to read all about the girls meeting him for the first time....Blessings to you!!

Sounds just delightful. When will you had to "camp?" How fun? Did he have a circ (is this TMI to ask?)? THAT is what was hard for me to get used to, taking care of a boy.

The name is very studly sounding! :)

Rookie mom, you should also know that taking a diaper off often seems to activate the system! Have the next diaper ready and poised so you don't get doused yourself!!

I love that he was staring at you all night...that is the best mental picture ever!!! What joy!

Congratulations Matt and Laura. Happy Birthday Handsome.

I can't wait to hold this little peanut. He looks absolutely beautiful.
But I do have 3 questions for you. The first one is already covered.

#1 Is he beautiful? He is just perfect, isn't he?
#2 Does he look like Mr Handsome? And I see that there is a striking resemblance.
#3 Has you milk come in yet Laura? Be patient---this takes time.
Praying for you and know you will be back no longer than God has planned for you to be there. Rest in Him. John 14:27
Love you--Lyn
I am finally on your blog. (Must say it was Emma's doing)

As a mom of boys, let me tell you it only takes once to learn about keeping the peeper covered while changing. heeheee. I am glad you are doing well. It must seem like a breeze with just one little guy to just sit and rockabye. I am jealous:)

Woops...forgot to sign that last one because I'm not a blogger....just a regular old-fashioned mom/sister. The story of God's provision is so amazing!!!

Disclaimer: I take no responsibility or ownership of the following insights into the life of a newborn baby boy. - Mabel

Here goes and please don't anyone be offended...

Clifford has a poem . . .(actually 2 poems)

Roses are red
violets are blue
If you don't hold it down
It will pee on you.

ok another one -

I'm not very good with prose -
But being the father of 4 boys -
I know the perils of the little hose.

Things always will come out cleaner
If you cover up the little weiner.

Do not fret -
It happens to the best -
The key here remember
Is not to fail the test

So watch especially when you are sleepy
Cover it up with a diaper or towel
Or you will have a fountain of pee pee!

Congratulations! Since you emailed, I haven't had a chance to check your blog and I was SO excited to see you have a SON!!!! Oh my goodness!!! Isn't God great??? I had to laugh at your "boy rookiness", cuz I went through that too when we brought Sebastian home. Girls just don't do those things! :) He is the CUTEST little thing ever, and have fun on cloud nine for a LONG time! It's a great place to be. ;)
