My friend Heather gave birth to their baby girl this morning at 8:14am.
Sophia Ann
6 lbs. 2 oz.
19 3/4 inches
Sophia is in the NICU receiving some oxygen and IV antibiotic. They say she is doing really well. She had great coloring at birth. They will monitor her in the NICU just to make sure she is gaining the strength she needs. Heather did a great job, but is now in pain from the surgery. Please pray for both of them today! And praise Jesus, that He answered our prayers by giving little Sophia the extra weight she needs. What an amazing answer to our specific prayers! (when they did the ultrasound on her a couple days ago, they thought she was only about 4 1/2 lbs.--I am glad our God delights in answering our specific prayers!!!!)
Heth, I am so proud of you!!!!!! You did it...you beat me!!!!!! ;)

Praise God and thanks for the update Laura!
OK, my heart stopped when I saw that a baby had been born, because I thought it was for YOU, and that you had found a birthmom named Heather! I hadn't seen the previous post, obviously. LOL That would explain why the tone was happy, yet still fairly calm. My heart is still racing!! Jill
Oh bless your heart, Jill!!!! I did consider that it might sound like our adoption journey...but I was hoping that people would connect the two posts.
When I post...you will see a gazillion exclamation marks, trust me!!! :)
(I'll pm you) ;)
Oh, that's great news! That is a healthy size indeed!
I also thought that it was a baby for you!
BUT YAY for Heather!!!!
Thanks for the update...I have been wondering how all went with Heather today!!! That is awesome that she and baby are both doing well...and that Sophia was bigger than they thought! Tell Heather "congrats" from me! :-)
Congratulations to you Heather! Welcome Sophia Ann!
Hey...Laura...now there are two Sophia Ann's...that's Markay's daughter's name too. Very cute name.
Ok...I did read your previous post and yet my heart still leaped.
Will keep your friend and her little one in my prayers.

I wasn't paying attention the other day when I checked your blog & saw this post. Just thought I'd admit that at first, from a glance, I thought maybe you "had" your baby!! I am still happy for your friend Heather though :=)
