It is amazing how much more rested one feels when one gets a good 3 hour stretch vs. 1 1/2 hours. Last night, I was able to experience just that...Ahhhh...sleep...what a wonderful thing! :) My boy has dedicated his entire life to keeping his cheeks up to the most kissableness as possible (it is my blog...I can make words up, right!!?). It is working...I think he is gaining a pound a day! We take him in on Friday...I can't wait to see what he tips the scales at. I am still in a fog. This fog is one that no amount of coffee or Cokes can touch. But like I said, I like it here...so I'll just keep getting up. :) The other night me and the cutie-pa-tootie were up until about 2:30am. I was so grateful that my friend had made me a Texas sheet cake, because around 1 am when I was bored out of my mind I was able to consume 3 pieces of it along with a glass of milk! I checked all of the blogs and none had been updated...but the cake gave me something to do while I bounced little-man around. Some might wonder how in the world I was able to go to sleep after eating 3 pieces of chocolate cake made with coffee in it. I assure you...I had no problems! Even though I am short on sleep, I am amazed at how great I feel. It is such a God thing! Thank you, Lord!

You are too funny! :) Clearly- your metabolism keeps up with your boredom! I'm glad that the chocolate cake kept you busy while you and the Little Man partied! :)
Glad that things are going well and that you are getting a BIT more sleep!!! :-) Hmmm...chocolate cake sounds REALLY good right now...I wonder what I can go and eat right now... :-)
mmmmm....texas sheet cake....yummy:) - give that little man a hug for me!!
sleep is my best friend, thats all I have to say about that. it totally rocks my world. not that i ever get to actually do it either. i feel your pain:)
Hi, it's been awhile since I've talked to you. Kev has baby fever and has wanted to come see your new one a few times. Have a good week. Ours is a bit crazy. We are off to piano right now. My oldest is 15 today!!!!
You are so funny. Praying for MORE sleep!
Next time you're up at night, I have three blogs with lots of pictures and a few quizzes:

You gotta love that late night cake. It never keeps me up either. I'm sooooooooooo excited for you!
Thanks for the updates and the great pics. He's amazing!
Blessing to you all.
Much chocolate and coffee to the Mama!
There's nothing like a sweet faced little baby and chocolate cake to make a person happy...even if it is in the wee hours of the morning :)
I wish I lived by you, I would've driven to your house today for some of that chocolate cake. I was going through withdrawls today at about 3:00...probably from eating all those brownies yesterday...Mmmmmmm BROWNIES!
I have to have the recipe for that cake! Chocolate cake with coffee in it....Could there be any better combination???
This Texan wants to know what in the world Texas sheet cake is? Perhaps we simply call in sheet cake here? LOL
I'm so glad you're so in love and so pumped up about your little man! He is a doll! I'm also glad you got some sleep. Those first few weeks can certainly make me loopy!
Love ya!! Jill
I'm with you - I could go on no sleep if I was bouncing around a baby too!!!
What do you mean coke and coffee can not touch this? There is nothing Coke and coffee can not touch. No fog both combined can not lift.
How about MC Hammer ... did you try him? Could he touch this?
This is the thing I fear the most...No Sleep!!! I only have 4.5 months left to sleep and Im already getting nervous.
Thanks for the "help"!
:)
I'm wondering what Texas sheet cake is also. You didn't offer me any when I stopped by :) I guess the fog must've had a hold of you or maybe it was Mr. Handsome's wet diaper. tee! hee!
Laura-
So fun to see all of your BIG smiling faces. I know you love your sleep...but what a precious time right now:-)
Do you get your naps in? I know you love those too. It was so fun to see your family on the couch...you fill it up!:-) Wow five kiddos...what a great looking crew you are!
Enjoy it all...these ARE the best days of our lives!
Going through what I am going through with my boys, thinking back to those sleepness nights and many feedings, it is all in a new perspective. So I say WOOHOO for feedings through the night, chances to bond with and meet the needs of your baby. To look him in the eye and insure he knows how much he is loved and cherished and safe.
Go to Sam's. They have a drink there that ROCKS...I think it's called Java Monster. That should do the trick.
I'm waiting for the cake recipe, Beulah....
I'll need to get the Texas sheet cake recipe from my friend Tonya--I already got the chicken pot pie recipe she made us! Guess it all boils down to the fact that she is one excellent Betty Crocker!!!!
