This is an email that I got from a friend recently. It touched my heart, because I had no idea how often she was praying for us. I am such a firm believer in the power of prayer...and this encouraged my heart. When you are prompted by the Holy Spirit to pray no matter where you are, do it! It was the power of prayer that sustained us during our journey. It was the power of prayer that kept us going when we didn't think we could. It was the power of many prayers that stormed the gates of heaven to bring our precious son into our arms forever!
The reason for this e-mail is just to share something with you. I drive past your house almost everyday whether it is to pick up my daughter from school or just whatever the reason. Since I found out about you adopting this has been my little reminder (well this and coffee) to pray for you and your family, all of your family wherever they were and that you would be united. Today I drove right in front of your house and I saw the baby evidence....a baby swing in the window. I know I have seen you at church holding Mr. Hudson but the swing in the house made it real to me he's home!!! I began crying (yes you know I am a cry baby) it brought such joy to my heart to see this in your window. I began to praise God for so many things, his faithfulness, his comfort, his sovereignty!!! Your adoption journey has touched so many lives and has forever changed mine. Thank you, thank you for your step of obedience when God said do you trust me. Enjoy these precious days! Love you!
The reality of Hudson being our son is kind of starting to sink in, but I still hold him and truly am overwhelmed with everything he means to us. Still even now, two months later I still really can't wrap my mind around how amazing all of this is. God is Awesome!
Can I challenge you with this...Whenever you start thinking about someone, their situation (whatever it may be), their family, their adoption, their jobs, their marriage, etc. take that moment to turn it into praying for them. The Lord delights in hearing us, He delights in the impossible, and He is always working. This quote from Fern Nichols, founder of Moms In Touch has always stuck with me...."Prayer isn't the prelude to doing, prayer is the doing." Let your voice be the voice that reaches the Lord's heart for that person. Having been the recepient of the power of prayer...I challenge you!

Powerful. What a blessing to see this. God is so big and to be used by him is such a blessing.
What a nice e-mail. And a reminder to stay faithful to prayer. I pray for each person whose blog I check daily. I need to be more diligent in praying for them at other times.
I am crying now...
Great reminder!!
I take you up on your challenge!
God has really been speaking to my heart in this.
Thanks!
Challenge taken, thanks for the reminder! I'm praying!
Challenge taken, thanks for the reminder! I'm praying!
What a great reminder...and challenge! It's a mindshift, you know? At least for me, at times. Regarding prayer as an invitation...not as an obligation or duty.
I will gladly take you up on this challenge! What a great way to "remember" to pray.
Sweet story, as well. I needed a good cry today. :)
Blessings to you and your family!

what an encouraging reminder of the power of prayer! I know I need prayer to be more prayerful ;)
Prayer is so powerful...and we often don't realize who is praying for us! I remember when we were in the LONG process of trying to find a house, there were times that people I really didn't even know very well would say, "How is the house hunt going? I've been praying for you!" Those "little things" can be SO encouraging...and look at the GREAT home we ended up finding! :-) Thanks for sharing and for the challenge, too!
Wonderful truth, my friend! Thanks for sharing the TRUTH of the power of prayer and for challenging us all in this way. I appreciate it!
How sweet!! What a wonderful friend and SO sweet that she thought to email it to you!
