"When man listens, God speaks.
When man obeys, God acts.
When God acts, men change.
When men change, nations change."
"Change is God's miracle to man. New Men, New Women, New Nations."
"If anyone comes to be in Christ, he is a new creation." 2 Corinthians 5:17
"Behold, I make all things NEW."
taken from GOD GUIDES by Mary Geegh
I don't know about nations changing, but what I do know is we listened to God to step out in faith and adopt...He CHANGED US! He acted on our behalf, and we are forever changed! Sometimes change is hard, it is scary, it is intimidating...but when we switch our thinking to think of change as God's miracle to man...WOW!

Amen!! He definately has changed us as well. So VERY glad He did!
Listening...something that takes such discipline!
Like Elijah, I can find myself looking for God's voice in a something spectacular such as a great wind, an earthquake, a fire...when the Lord is speaking to me in a gentle whisper (I Kings 19:11-12)!
Thanks for the wonderful reminder!
Amen, sister!! I am studying right now about thinking the things of God, rather than men - harder than it should be sometimes!! I know (as you have learned) that waiting to hear from God is really hard at times & then I am reminded,
"I am the Lord, the God of all mankind. Is anything to hard for me?" - Jeremiah 32:26
& one I believe as much as I believe the sun will rise tomorrow,
"& my God will meet all your needs according to His glorious riches in Christ Jesus" - Philippians 4:19
Oh, how I love Him.
Sara--I wrote those two verses along with "This is the day the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad on it" in dry erase marker on the mirror in my room at the beginning of our adoption journey. Somedays I would walk by and not even notice, but then there were the days that boy they jumped out at me right when I needed them to. The other one that ran through my head over and over again was, "Be Still and Know that I am God" Psalm 46:10. In adoption you can not control anything once you send in your paper work. I had to just settle myself, and be still before Him resting in His Sovereignty. It was a new place for me to be, but such an amazing experience.
Be still and know that I am God.
It is hard to listen when we overfill our lives with chaos.
WOW.. I love this.
And its true!
What a cutie pie. I'm so glad I found out about your blog. I miss your kiddos terribly. You are blessed that is for sure. That baby boy is adorable. I'd love to keep up with your family. Give the girls a hug for me.
SO true. Preach it sister!!!!!!!!
Great reminder and challenge, Laura. I can so struggle to quiet myself enough to REALLY listen to the Lord... Thanks for sharing!
Amen. . oh so changed in the last year. And, it doesn't just stop with adoption. . His heart for orphans is changing me left and right! Oh thank you, Jesus!
