Holding down the fort....

We're here...things are going great! Our kids traveled amazingly well. Alivia's arm is feeling better. When we arrived our kids made themselves right at home with their new friends. They are having a blast together. The girls did their schoolwork in record time this morning...so they could start in on playing with the twins. We are holding down the fort right now while Steff is out running errands with Lukas...he needed some alone time with mommy.

The twins are so tiny, I can't imagine them with 5 lbs less on them. They seem to be improving, but they need to eat more. Pray they will start to like the high calorie concoction they are suppose to be eating each day. Steffany and I are trying to come up with a way to make it where they will eat it. It tastes like peanut butter cookie dough. Daizey will drink Pediasure, but Diezel doesn't like the stuff...pray he will start drinking it. They need to! We have to come up with a way to get them to take this stuff...so please pray!

They are absolutely beautiful! Their eyes sparkle and they have the sweetest little faces. They truly do melt your heart!

I'll post pictures later...I have been having fun taking photos of them. :)

I can't wait to see some pictures! We too will continue to lift those little ones up in prayer! I wish I had a really great suggestion to help him like his food. All I could think of was trying a really cool straw to drink it out of?!?

Hey Laura,

This is Laura K .... just wanted you to know I am keeping up with you and your friend Steff and her new little ones.

Glad to hear that the trip was smooth and your kiddos are settled in and loving their new friends.

Julianna had the "nursemaids elbow" thing a month or so ago. ouch!

Praying for health for the twins,
Laura

I saw the peanut butter concoction on a 60 Minutes episode about starving children in Africa. It looks like a miraculous invention...the way it fattens them up. Have you tried having them lick it off your finger? I don't know if they're used to spoons or not. I thought a finger might be more comforting. What do I know? Steff's the mom! :) But, I will pray their tastebuds would be turned on to the slightly sweet flavor...must be so different. Say hi to the kids for us!

Auntie K...the one who always has some sort of advice :)

Carnation Instant Breakfast is another way to pack in some extra calories. Maybe it would be something the twins would like?

I hope you are having a wonderful time together. You are certainly a great friend to lend a hand!

Blessings to all of you.

My daughter was "failure to thrive" when she was 3 (very late for that). We put a TB of heavy whipping cream in her drinks. It adds 50 cal. per TB. It worked well.
