Asking with Earnestness---

I just read this quote from Richard Foster and it seems to be prevalent to where we are at. Supplication means to ask with earnestness, with intensity, with perseverance. It is a declaration that we are deadly serious about this prayer business. We are going to keep at it and not give up. John Calvin wrote, "We must repeat the same supplications not twice or three times only, but as often as we have need, a hundred and a thousand times...We must never be weary in waiting for God's help."

November 9, 2007--Today was the due date of the baby boy we had been matched with. It seems sort of strange to hit this day and have no idea what is happening with our adoption journey. I continue to ask the Lord with intensity for His will to be done with our adoption journey. I can not grow weary, although there are times that I must admit that I have been extremely weary. I will press on...I will seek His heart...I will wait in expectation!

One thing I do:...I press on toward the goal to win the prize. ~Philippians 3:13-14

This [one thing] I call to mind and therefore I have hope: Because of the LORD's great love we are not consumed, for His compassions never fail. They are new every morning" ~Lam. 3:21-23

One thing I ask of the LORD, this is what I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the LORD and to seek him in his temple" ~Psalm 27:4

One thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus. ~Phil. 3:13-14

I know that this suggestion has come up before- but I really think you need to consider publishing an adoption walk devotional. God has met you in so many ways and I can only imagine how encouraging that would be to others.

Just an idea :)

Oh, Laura...I can't even imagine the wait that you are experiencing and ALL that comes with that (mentally, emotionally, spiritually). I will anxiously await some news...thinking of you and praying for you right now! Love, Kristi

Thanks Laura, sometimes I grow so tired of even praying for our adoption (how awful does that sound). Our road on this adoption has been long and windy-I feel weary, but need to contine seeking God on it.

Laura, I can't imagine the waiting...God is always faithful! I think He is just waiting for my baby to be born that way we can have babies at the same time...I'll try to go early for you!! In that case, I better get back to those jumping jacks!

What a gentle soul you have. God's spirit is dwelling within you. Take comfort in knowing that although you may not know how your child is doing, this is also God's child, and He knows everything.
