I'm having a case of "Blogger Block"....how do I put today into words?!?! I woke this morning to my translations in my inbox. I was elated! I printed them off and my heart began pounding...I couldn't believe we were this close to the end of our paperchase! Then I started looking into ways that I could FedEx or UPS our documents to the consulate without having to drive to a nearby town. Matt and I figured out a way to do it, so I began to get an account all set up with UPS online. Everything was going smoothly, but then I needed to take a daughter to soccer. While she was at soccer...I went back to the post office to mail in our I600 A application that had been returned because of not having the proper payment. We corrected the mistake, wrote them a new check, emailed the director of our agency informing her of the change needed on the dossier instructions, and back to the post office it was. Whew...another thing crossed off my list! :) Ok so back to the documents to the consulate. I had emailed Jamie asking her a question about sending them to the consulate...she so kindly emailed me back with complete understanding of the insecurity associated with this step. She also included some additional info, which warranted a phone call to Courtney. When talking to Court, I realized that I had compiled the documents wrong...so I re-did all of those. I was feeling like I was on the right track...I got the labels ready to put on the mailers. WHAT?!?! They printed out wrong! It was now necessary to call 1-800-UPS! Which I did, after listening to all of the options numerous times I was finally was connected with a UPS operator. Oh...I was calling the wrong department...silly me, I just pushed "0" to get connected to anyone. The gentleman was nice though and connected me to the correct department. This new lady walked me back through canceling one of the labels, in order to correct the shipping. Whew! I went through the process once again of ordering a new label, only to have it printed out that it was from me to me. Wait...they won't process that label...I asked specifically if I could do that. At this point the girls have been in the car for 10 minutes waiting for me to take them to the library. Figures that today is the day that has the big library scavenger hunt. The big girls had also told the youngest one that she could join them today, so needless to say...I spent the next couple of hours at the library playing bingo and going on a scavenger hunt! That finally came to an end so back home I drove...Ok...cancel again, order another label with the correct shipper, and print! WhaLa! Yes...I finally have it done! Before I head to the bank, I realize that I should put a little make-up on. At this point, I poke my eye with my mascara so for the next half hour my eye is watering and stinging! :) I drive down to the bank to get the money order...Matt is, of course, with a customer so I have to wait for him. He gets the money order while I am using his tape to tape the labels onto the envelopes. We get everything done and off to the drop box I go with 25 minutes to spare. I never would have imagined this morning at 7:30 that it was going to take me until 4 in the afternoon to get this "project" together! I spend some time in the car praying over the documents with the girls and into the drop-box our mailer went. As I walked back the car...my heart was pounding! :)

Wanna know the best part??? I called the consulate this morning and the man told me that if they get the mailer in the morning (which they should) they will stamp them and send them back to me tomorrow afternoon! Yay! We are so very, very close!

Oh Laura, what a day! I am glad that you finally got everything finished and sent out! What's next for you guys. Do you have to travel to Haiti to file you I600?
That is what I will be doing on my trip next week.
Praying that everything will run according to plans and that you have your papers back soon!
