Hudson was mesmerized by this little thing today. He froze for a bit, then went after it full force. He kept crawling and grabbing for it. If I hadn't been there to stop him, that ginormous cricket would have been in his mouth in an instant. Ewww, the thought makes my stomach turn. As I was bug patrolling, I grabbed my camera to document his early infatuation with critters. I have a feeling this is only the beginning! :)

Welcome to the world of little boys:)
Oh, yes!! Seeing my little dudes with some Daddy Long legs this afternoon, I just cringed!! Great lighting!
You can just see he's ready to "pounce" on that cricket! He has the cutest little chubby fingers ever! :)
Awww, what a cutie! Look at this way, when dad's not at home, now you have someone to save you from the huge_monster_attack_crickets. My boys are my heroes sometimes! :)
Mmmmmmm PROTEIN!!
Laura, Emily ate a lady bug when she was that age. I just about got sick when I smelled what was in her mouth. So with you on the Charlie Gibson interview. I was spittin' mad watching it. I need to have some rockin' fun at my house, been a little too tired to even do dishes:) Love your blog!
Welcome, Welcome, Welcome. Wait until he starts in on snakes! Is he crawling already? Man, time goes fast.
Grant came walking up to me yesterday, held out his hand and said, "Bug". There was a live, wiggling EARWIG in his little fingers!!! EEEEW! Boys & their bugs...
Oh - little boys. Gotta love their curiousity! Thanksfully mine looks but then says "ewww" and doesn't touch....he only eats soap.
i hear they taste pretty good roasted and dipped in chocolate :)
So adorable, I love his little chubby fingers!!!
Came back to say....I gave you an award :)
Hey - girls can like bugs too. My favorite class in high school was entomology.
And yes, Sue, you definitely would want to roast it first - crickets can carry parasites - a bit hard on the tummy.
And so it begins...
he needs a bug collecting box!
my sons used my rubbermail stuff to collect all types of bugs.
Too cute.
oh yes...my youngest son is infatuated (I believe) with bugs.... until he sees his sister scream like a girl around them, and you know....imitation is THE sincerest form of flattery. Though my hubby doesn't think it's funny that 'his boy' can squeal louder, longer and better than his sister.
GREAT picture of him about to pounce on the bug.
