Prayers for My Dear Friend!

I'm sorry that I have not updated...this week has been a crazy busy week (and I was thoroughly enjoying the political discussion that was taking place). It started last weekend when we began preparations for my friend to come home from Ukraine with their two new daughters(the two on their laps in the picture above). I did shopping, stocked her cupboards, blew up balloons, made posters...and got a little giddy. Saturday it was off to the airport we went. It was so exciting to meet these girls that I had already fallen in love with through their blog. Sunday and Monday we relished the last warm days of the summer and all went swimming. Our girls are great buddies with their boys and since they have been in Ukraine for 6 weeks, it was so fun to enjoy the last days of summer together.

We started our schooling this week as well. We're off to a great start. I just have to tell you how incredibly much I love being able to learn with my girls. During off school times...I have been enjoying helping Karen out with whatever she needs me for..making food, listening, going to Walmart, and playing with the girls.

I ask you to please cover their family in your prayers. They are in a time of adjustment that is so overwhelming none of us can really even wrap our minds around it. It is hard to see a friend struggle through the vast emotions that arise during this intense time.

(This weekend our daughter is in a production of Pollyanna...I hope to get some pictures for you.)

Hi Laura!! :)

I had a good friend come home from Ethiopia recently with 2 children, so I was doing the whole shopping-balloons-meals-etc. thing too!! It was a blast!!! What a sweet family. I will lift them up during this transitional time & ask God to infuse their family with His joy!!

SO... you're a HOMESCHOOL mama! I didn't know, and I'm glad I do! :) I am homeschooling for the first time this year. We have much in common my friend!!

Have a wonderful weekend!! Excited to see pictures of Pollyanna.

Blessings,
Rebecca

You are such a sweetheart, Laura. I couldn't make it without you right now! What an amazing homecoming you've made for us!

Sooner or later I'll get my head above water and make a post on my blog....

Laura,
glad to hear that your school year is off to a great start! Could you please tell what you thoroughly enjoy because right now I have the "how many days until Christmas Vacation?" attitude! Hee hee. Homeschool is hardwork no matter how you look at it and with Jesse being only 5mo old and Tess only 2 it is even more challenging. Any tips for schooling with toddlers?

Laura~
You are a great friend! You are such a great example to your kids on how you can help others...even when your own life is busy.
This is our first week back at homeschool too. It is such a joy for me too to learn with my kiddos. Have a great year with them!

Lord, I just lift up this precious family to you as they make their adjustments. I pray that their hearts are guarded against the enemy and that you protect their family from him..I pray that their eyes would remain lifted up, towards you - our Hope, our Father. I pray that they would allow you to parent them as you desire & that you would continue to allow them to be supported & lifted up by friends and family. This is the time when the enemy strikes the hardest, when we are vunerable and when he knows that he can make us doubt ourselves and even You. Thank you for being the God that loves us more than we will ever know. Thank you for this family.

In your Precious Son's Name,
amen
