i have a problem today. i made 4, yes F-O-U-R pots of coffee today, and none of them turned out. what in the world!?!!?!? first one, i was only half awake so i couldn't remember how many scoops of coffee i had put in. i ended up adding too much water so that coffee didn't even taste like coffee. i then decided to pull out the big guns...so i grabbed my french press. guess i overcompensated...that turned into mud. i tried mixing the two...but it wasn't workin'. so both of those met the kitchen drain, and i started with a fresh pot. how could i ruin this one? i listened to the drip, drip, puff, puff of my machine as she brewed up some caffiene for me. i poured my blissful cup of existence into my Starbucks "I Love You" mug that Matt gave me last Valentine's Day...only to have grounds floating in there. WHAT?!?!!? yeppers, the filter folded during brewing causing black granuales of caffiene to pollute my blissful cup of existence. again, I poured that pot out...rinsed the pot, the basket, my brain and tried for a fourth pot of morning goodness. this one turned out drinkable, but then my daughter being the sweet thing that she is poured me some fresh coffee and added waaaaaaaayyyyy too much creamer. i couldn't drink it. i tried, really tried.
people, i need to know what the matter is that i can not make a pot of coffee today. i need you all to know that i was up for over an hour with my son last night. around 4am-ish i almost got out of bed to go make some coffee...i didn't. maybe i should have. i. am. tired.
i. need. coffee.

Too funny!! I hate the floaty coffee grounds!!!!
I would venture to say all the coffee you wasted, you should have sprung for the Starbucks drive through :)
I would take your hour with your son any night, because my sweet little darling's sleep habits have become atrosious! Up at midnight, up at 2 up at 4 up at 6. Its exhausting and I don't have a clue what to do about it either, you think I would having 12 babies, but nope, none of my other kids have ever done this. I try to be a good sport about it, and truly try to enjoy the time of rocking because I know she is our last and these days will pass all too quickly, but some nights, I just long for 4-5 hours of just pure straight sleep. I never used to be a coffee drinker, strictly a cappuccion once in a while but now, I drink 2 huge mugs full every single morning, I can't function without them!
I think you should have drank the coffee with the grounds in it...kind of like fiber I think. Then, you could have skipped the metamucil today.
or fibercon or whatever it is you prefer.
You don't need coffee, you need a nap. Here's hoping you are rested up by now.
I agree with Sara. Starbucks all the way.
I think it's about time you just take your mediocre coffee and make it great with your suedo Bullet! Nothing a little chocolate syrup can't fix.
And seriously...not sure I'm up for being up at 4am quite yet...ufda.
why not try making it w/drew and cass's water? That'd wake ya up for sure!!! of course, you didn't appreciate it when i made it :) simple pleasures are really the best, if you know what i mean!!!
I am such a coffee addict. I HAVE to have it in the mornings or my day is COMPLETELY MESSED UP.
Even after 4 attempts, I don't think I could have made myself go to the coffeeshop. My hubby fresh roasts all our coffee and I am so spoiled now, everything else just tastes horrible! :) (Unless it is swimming in whipped cream and toffee nut syrup!!) :)
xoxo
Sheesh, Rebecca, I thought I was a coffee snob! You've got me beat!
The same thing happens to me...sometimes the coffees great...sometimes is disgusting. I am not sure what happens with that! I do hope that you got your coffee!:)
And I loved the birthday story. What a sweet girl to say "thank you" for a dishwasher. And I loved Matt's comment too! I shared the story with Brent ad we had a good laugh!;-)
Know what really chaps my chaps? When you put the filter down too close to the drip hole. If you slide it down there ever so perfect, the coffe gounds and filter somehow conspire to clog the works and the next thing you know, I am desperately working to stop the madness before my cup runeth over.
Ummm. Starbucks?
can you email me what type of camera you are using? My husband wanted to know. Thanks. lutztribe@gmail.com
Yes that's it!! My hubby has turned me into a coffee snob!!!! We were at a Christmas party last year and the hosts made a pot of, I quote, "the best coffee you will ever taste in your life". Now, that is quite a build-up... then we all sip it and they said, "Now, ISN'T THAT the best coffee you've ever tasted in your life???" Everybody said yes... Andy and I looked at each other and winked. :) We know what real coffee tastes like!!!
I will get Andy to mail you some coffee beans. Do you have a grinder? I'm just warning you; you might get addicted!!! :)
Dan's mom...I'll email you, but for anyone else wondering these pics have been taken with an Olympus E-510.
Rebecca--I'm up to the challenge
"to keep up with the Jones"--when it comes to coffee. ;) If you turn me into a coffee bean roaster, then I'll just have to add that to my profile page. :)
mmmm coffee. I do not function without it.
