I do believe it is time for another update from the house that has been quarantined. Funny thing...we home school so I'm home pretty much all the time, but somehow knowing that we HAVE to be home can sorta bug me. but whatever.
Here are the latest stats--
The above little man has come down with the whooping cough. I started him on meds right away so I'm really hoping they will lessen the severity of it. Saturday night he started coughing around midnight and coughed until after 3:30am. I was tired yesterday! Last night he had a much better night...thank you to everyone that is praying! Praise Jesus!
The first of the family's whoopers is still coughing. She has completed her course of medication, and the cough is seeming to improve. She had some really rough episodes over the weekend, but yesterday there was improvement. Praise Jesus! Please continue to pray for her. She has a solo in a concert Thursday night...and we all really want her to be able to do it. She really wants to do it! The way things are going I think another few days will work wonders. ;)
Friday night the hospital called and said the test came back positive. My dad came and picked me up and we headed to the only pharmacy in town that was still open. So nice of us to show up 10 minutes before they closed. We had 7 prescriptions filled (matt and I, three remaining kiddos, and two grandparents). My dad and I had a fun time choosing medical equipment for each other's Christmas gifts as jokes until the gal rang up my bill...over $270 later we are all on the stupid stuff. Problem is we have to be on it for FOURTEEN days! We needed so much medication that the pharmacy didn't even have enough to cover us. We have to go back today to get the remaining gallon of stuff. The girls were crying when I would call them over for their doses because it tastes so bad. It's white, chalky, and biter disguised in a fruit punch flavor that doesn't work. But then this smart mama remembered I had purchased some M&M minis and began offering a handful of chocolate after they take their dose. Are two handfuls of M&M minis twice a day for two weeks too much!?!?! maybe...but whatever.
On to my manly man...he has improved greatly! He has regained some mobility and even did a little bit of shoveling. I told him I would do it, but he wanted to take care of it. He's so good like that! Thank you for your prayers!!!!
My other prayer request is for myself. This medication is reeking havoc with me. I'm incredibly nauseated. It's hard to take medication that makes you feel sick when you are actually feeling a-OK. Pray that my body can adjust and I can keep on keeping on. :) I had to cancel a photo shoot scheduled for Saturday...that was a huge bummer. But I would have felt awful if I would have passed it on to this family full of little ones. It's just wasn't worth it.
This might rank up there with the salad shooter post as the most boring post ever. Did you guys really want to know our medical conditions?!?!?! boring...i know. sorry. it's all i got.
